Thanks for visiting!
Hi D&C
I caught a TERRIBLE cold at your party last Friday, but still had a great time. I am still rooting for 'Iris Ling Yue Stenkamp Swift'
KP
OK, my first blog entry anywhere anytime. So I'll make the most of it.
First of all, the party - it was excellent. Except for the moon cakes, which were at best 'interesting'. (But then I didn't get a yolk so maybe I missed the best part.)
Like the hosts, the guests were diverse, hungry, interesting, talkative and friendly. We had a great time, even if we spent most of the time in a corner - as ivory tower types we have a problem with normal socialization.
Second, the name. I think including LingYue is an excellent idea. Too bad about the deadline - you may get additional inspiration during your visit.
Hope you have a great trip to China, and I am sure you will bring back much more than an interesting experience.
Tom
Dear Deb & Charles,
It was really fun being included in the "grandmother" baby shower and getting to spend some time with you. We are so excited for you about the addition of Iris to the Stenkamp-Swift families. We hope your trip to China is a wonderful experience and know it will be very rewarding as you will be returning with a real treasure! We will be anxious to meet Iris! Wishing you all good luck, good health, and much happiness.
Great-Aunt Darlene & Great-Uncle Tom
Hello Swift/Stenkamp family and friends!
We're happily awaiting Deb and Charles' arrival in Tacoma for their layover on the way to pick up Iris. With any luck, we'll get to meet Iris at the SeaTac Airport on their return!
Congratulations and see you soon!

On the east coast it is now Friday morning. Just to let you know, I am thinking about you and praying that God's guiding hand will be going before you. I am looking forward to greeting my newest grandaughter, and welcoming her into the family. Love from Granny
Welcome to my second cousin twice removed. I look forward to including Iris in our family tree records and would like to know what to put as her date (and place)of birth. For your return, have a bottle or soother handy because babies like to suck when they take off and land to help their ears! Love and safe home, Diana Gillyatt
It's Tuesday afternoon, still anxiously checking for photos of 'we Iris'. Yes, by adoption she will be part Scottish, hence the 'we' for 'we one' or you might prefer 'we bairn'. Granny
Trying to post again - hopefully they both don't show up.
Congratulations to you all! As they say "Three.... is a magic number." (Schoolhouse rock).
Adoption is a magical adventure. Have fun getting to know your new baby and her birthland.
Give baby Zola a squeeze from her Auntie.
Where's the baby????
We want pictures! I know it is daytime there in China, so get busy and post us an update! You aren't a little too busy are you? Welcome to parenthood.
Jeanne
Deb & Chas - thanks for keeping us all up to date on your latest family acquisition. It is so much fun to get up-to-the-minute details and wonderful photos of precious Iris! She is adorable! I can't wait to meet her....Kay
I am repeating my request for date and place of birth so that I can put Iris in our family tree. WELL DONE on the early potty training - persevere and you will be rewarded! I have enjoyed my armchair tour through your blog and wish you happy landing. Love, Diana
Iris is beautiful and you all look like a wonderful family! Glad you are finally home. I hope you will continue to post updates and photos. There are some of us adoptive parents who like to live vicariously through your journey. (Okay, so maybe it is just me.)
Enjoy your little girl! Thanks for sharing her story with us.
Jeanne
Hey, Folks - great photos and a wonderfully happy little lady, Iris. Really happy for you all and best of luck!!! Gordon Peltz
Hi Deb, Charles and Iris,
It’s very nice to know you have a blog for recording your family life and iris’s growth. Iris already two years old! WOW!!!!! I can’t believe that I didn’t see her for almost one year. She looks not like a baby anymore. She is a little girl now. From the blog, I can know she is learning well and having fun for the life. It’s wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing this!!! Please keep updating the blog. I will come to visit a lot.
